Xenoslaive Overdrive [Demo] #1 (Heavy Rotation)
1While taking a short break from my RefleX runs, I came across this small demo for a game still in development called Xenoslaive Overdrive, so here's me taking a whack at it and getting killed.
In my honest opinion, I enjoyed my time with Xenoslaive Overdrive's demo, but there are things to work on. While I appreciated the simple controls, an interesting charge shot mechanic, and enemy bullets that were clearly distinguishable, general movement speed was way too slow. There's a button for a slower focus speed that I had no need for. I'm already at a snail's pace. My other small gripe is that the music leaves a bit to be desired. It really felt like a set of generic drum/bass electronic that didn't match the tempo of the game, but of course, this demo only covers the first level, so there may be something better later on. I don't really know. Those are just a couple small time things I think can be easily remedied before the game gets it's official release.
