Xiaomi has globally unveiled its new flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro. These devices represent a strategic shift, moving beyond a purely photographic focus to emphasize overall technology and design.
Key Features:
Camera System: Co-engineered with Leica, both models feature a 50MP main camera with a Leica Summilux lens (f/1.7 on 15T, f/1.62 on 15T Pro). The 15T Pro introduces a new Leica 5x Pro telephoto lens for 5x optical zoom and Xiaomi’s custom Light Fusion 900 sensor, enabling 4K video recording at 120 frames per second (fps).
Performance: The 15T Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chip, while the standard 15T uses the Dimensity 8400-Ultra.
Battery and Charging: Both devices house a 5500mAh battery. The 15T supports 67W fast wired charging, and the 15T Pro supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Display and Durability: Both smartphones feature a large 6.83-inch display with a maximum brightness of 3200 nits, protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. They carry an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The 15T Pro has a 144Hz refresh rate and ultra-thin 1.5mm bezels, while the 15T offers up to 120Hz.
Design: The 15T Pro uses a high-strength 6M13 aluminum alloy frame, and both models have a fiberglass back, resulting in a thin profile (7.5-7.9mm).
Software and AI: The phones debut with the new HyperOS 3 (based on Android 16), introducing features like cross-device unlocking and HyperIsland (a notification block similar to iOS's Dynamic Island). incorporate advanced AI tools via the HyperAI platform, based on GPT-4o mini, for on-screen analysis, translation, and content generation.
Unique Connectivity: A major technical novelty is Xiaomi Astral Communication, an exclusive voice communication feature between 15T series devices (and later models) at distances of 1.3 to 1.9 km in areas without cellular signal, intended for outdoor use. They also feature Xiaomi’s proprietary Surge T1S Tuner for enhanced connection stability across GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G, and 5G.
