弹幕异夜剧 - xiv's Stage (Lunatic) - NMNBNCFS - Sanae
Never thought I'd get around to NMNBing anything related to Junko, but here we are. Surprisingly, she's not as bullshit as I expected.
The stage is requires a fair bit of routing.
- Some enemies fire suicide CAVE bullets which are aimed, so consider holding your fire if you want to restream.
- Cancel fairies also block bullets from spawning for a short period of time, so I abuse this time to kill the suicide-bullet-releasing fairies so the screen doesn't flood as much.
- The death fairy is basically streaming. The stars spawn along the path of the lasers, so be careful not to get one spawned on you.
Junko herself isn't too terrible, and quite a few of her attacks can be made easier with strategies. A lot of her patterns involve you or her moving around a lot, so I picked Sanae because she can deal more consistent damage. (Specifically, I tested this on the penultimate spell. Sanae took 25s while Marisa took 40s.)
- Junko moves a lot during her opener. You're more likely to get clipped if you follow her around and try to dodge the ring at a weird angle, so try to stay below where the ring was fired.
- 1st spell is just misdirection. Don't worry too much about staying under Junko. It's what Sanae's options are for.
- 2nd spell is basically routable. The only RNG involved is during the big wave where you might get a clump of red stuff moving towards you. I'm pretty sure it's less dense than the original Lilies.
- 3rd spell has random rotation. At times the waves will wind up looking like Trembling Shivering Star, but usually you can just follow the pattern left or right.
- 4th spell is stupid. The rotation of the blue lanes is random, so you could have to cut through them every second, or the spell could end without you dodging anything but the aimed balls. (The safe areas might also move up or down. It's a coin toss.) I had a lot of trouble in spell practice here, but interestingly I've captured this about 60% of the time in actual runs. No idea why. Maybe a little warmup helps...?
- 5th spell is significantly more doable near the bottom (not that it's easy). Focus on the two orbs exploding near you first and position yourself in the gaps between the bullets they release, then deal with everything else.
- Sanae really makes the final easier because you're going to have to dance around a lot on the last phase, which could otherwise make it last forever (refer to CreepyNinja_'s 2MNB). As an added bonus, it has no timeout phase, so if you're feeling cheap you could always wait out 150 seconds of aimed purple bullets.
Challenges:
13) Obtain a score of 250,000,000 or more on Lunatic.
14) NMNB the death fairy on Lunatic.
BGM (differs depending on difficulty. Spell practice has its own music too):
Stage - Still Love You (from Truxton II, stage 5)
Boss - Longhena Cantata (from Dodonpachi Maximum)
