Xtreme Stream 01 - Random Super Mario All Stars Gameplay
5First time I ever attempted to live stream on YouTube, long overdue because I always wanted to try out streaming for years but never got around to it. Originally wanted to stream Mario Kart 64 but my N64 kept freezing for some odd reason randomly so I decided instead to test things by playing Super Mario All Stars. I played through both quests of Super Mario Bros with warps, and did a no death run of Super Mario Bros 3 with warps, complete with a few fun glitches. lol.
As for how I did it, I plugged the AV Cable from the Game Console to my VCR, then plugged the VCR to one of my DVD Recorders (a Toshiba DR430 that I had since Christmas 2013), and then used a cheap little USB HDMI Capture Device I had since 2020. I played the game by viewing it on the TV as the VCR was connected to that as well via the coaxial cable while the AV output was connected to the DVD Recorder. The stream was being done using OBS. Might sound like a complicated setup but it was pretty easy tbh. Next, I want to try streaming with recording my voice with my microphone in addition to the gameplay. Might do a test with that setup some time.
Did run into some technical problems with recording at some points during the video. At one point as I was playing Super Mario Bros, it only had a blue screen meaning the capture device must have moved slightly and froze, as happens with a cheap capture device. lol.
