Yakuza: Like a Dragon - The Final Millenium Tower / Amon
6It is time for us to undertake a new challenge as Premium Adventure gives us access to the Final Millenium Tower! This version pits us against tougher enemies than before and throws a few surprises our way, including some familiar faces! Sadly, I seem to have been a bit overprepared for it...
For this one, you want a good spread of elemental skills, male characters can learn Megaton Throw from the Foreman Class, Ice Spreader from the Host class and Fulminating Forecast from the Fortuneteller class. Female characters can learn Candle Rush from the Night Queen class and Ice Spreader from the Hostess class. Grabbing stat boosts from a few classes also helps.
As for my party itself, I went with Hero Ichiban, Idol Saeko, Dealer Eri and Hitman Joon-gi Han as my main party, the reserves were Gangster Zhao, Homeless Guy Nanba and Enforcer Adachi. Level 90 characters with job levels in their 30s/40s was clearly excessive though...
Your ascent will pit you against some top-class enemies, but also some bosses, starting with Saejima who is weak to Ice, he hits fairly hard, and his health won't go down below 40% until he unleashes his Tiger Spirit so save your efforts to not waste your damage and keep unleashing Ice Spreader and/or Piercing attacks such as Darts Airstrike.
The next boss is Majima, who is weak to Fire, so Megaton Throw and Candle Rush will deal the most damage here. His health is locked to 40% until he unleashes his Hannya Spirit, he'll fold pretty quickly after that, if you're as prepared as I was.
Your next big obstacle will be Tendo with a weakness to Electricity, he fights much like his original incarnation but has less HP and no health gating, so pound away at him with Fulminating Forecast and he'll go down easily.
Right afterwards you'll fight Kiryu who fights exactly like in the story and retains his weakness to Ice, he'll go through his Rush, Beast and Dragon phases too and his health will be gated at 70%, 50% and 25% until he does, I think he also won't attack female party members here.
And last but not least, the Manager himself, Amon! He doesn't seem to have a weakness, and resists at least Electricity and Fire. He'll fight much like Kiryu at the start, going through Rush and Beast mode, but once he reaches 25% of his HP, he'll flash a Malicious Grin, inflicting Fear on your party (Ichiban was immune to it for me) and following up with the Essence of Orbital Laser, a strong Electric attack that'll likely inflict Paralysis on your party, if Ichiban gets a turn between them, he can call upon Mr. Masochist as a Poundmate to greatly reduce that damage. In my case I was thankfully strong enough to endure it.
And with an interesting scene, we have cleared this dungeon, and learn of the True Final Millenium Tower! This much harder version will require a lot more preparation from me...
