Yoshi - Melee Event 51 The Showdown (No stock loss)
47Yoshi's down aerial again is a big move here, as it gives Yoshi the means to rack up Giga Bowser's damage really fast. Problem is that unless Giga Bowser is knocked down or at high damage, you will most likely take a hit in return upon landing with it. Yoshi's midair jump with his great air speed is also immensely useful, as it allows him to assault Giga Bowser while evading Dark Dives very easily. Besides dair, Yoshi's forward aerial is another very effective move, being a meteor smash, that also has enough base knockback to pop Giga Bowser up very easily (once past 10%). Fair will often leave Giga Bowser knocked down, where you can then safely followup with a dair for massive damage. Yoshi does have difficulty killing Giga Bowser and will often have to get him above 150% to kill, but it's not too problematic, as Yoshi can rack up his damage so quickly.
When it comes to the 2 on 1, Yoshi does very poorly, as he doesn't have the reach and power to safely land hits when Ganon and Mewtwo are bunched together. However, with his midair jump and movement speed, you could feasibly keep dodging them until useful items came along if you're very incompetent with Yoshi.
Overall, Yoshi is around the middle at the Showdown.
