If you aren't making cavalry in your team match 3v3 and 4v4 games in Age of Empires 4, you're going to be in for a bad time. The maps are simply too large for infantry, even HRE infantry that run faster, to make a difference. If you don't have cavalry in 4v4 you won't be able to save your team mates or attack weak spots of your enemy. Age of Empires 4 is not very balanced and requires players in team games to spam cavalry units. Even if you were a wall-in master it's still more beneficial to use cavalry over any other unit.
