Prompt Written Out:

You slowly wake up one morning and notice something strange. You are living inside of a video game. You reach for your face, thinking maybe it’s a VR headset. But it’s not. You are stuck. You look around to see if there’s an explanation. A note perhaps? But it turns out you must discover everything on your own.

What do you notice at first? What is the goal of the game? And how do you find out the rules? Are there any levels, a point system, or challenges you must complete as you progress through the game? Are there dangers to avoid? What kind of a game is it? A creative game? An old school 80’s game? A multi-player battle game? A sports game?

Where does it take place? And what is this world like? Is there a map you can access? What items or tools do you have? How do you obtain those items? Who are the characters in your game? What do they say to you? Do you run into Non-Player Characters (NPCs)? And most importantly, how do you ultimately get out of the game and make your way home?
