(Note: I am aware that this is not my idea.)
Many Young Earth Creationists assert that the world, and by extension the universe (or 'heavens'), was created 6000 years ago, but the finite speed of light indicates that this cannot be the case.
If the universe were created only 6000 years ago, then we would not be able to see anything more than 6000 light-years away. This is because there would not have been enough time for light from objects further away to reach us.
Light from the Andromeda Galaxy (my favourite example), which is 2.5 million light years from Earth, takes 2.5 million years to reach our eyes. If the universe were created only 6000 years ago, then there would not have been enough time for light from the Andromeda galaxy to reach us. Therefore, we would not be able to see it or even know that it exists.
The very fact that we can see the Andromeda Galaxy, by receiving light that has travelled 2.5 million light years to get here, confirms that the universe is at least 2.5 million years old. Therefore, Young Earth Creationism is false.
