I have seen puzzles used wrongly in lots of dungeons and dragons games so am making this video to explain why I think they are used wrong, and how you can use them better!

This isn't a video with examples of puzzles you can use in DnD but if that's something you're interested in, let me know in the comments.

So I think that puzzles in D&D shouldn't be used to cause a roadblock in the progression of the session but instead as an optional extra on the side that the party can choose to complete.

In this video I talk about having a puzzle that, if solved, will help the party with a future encounter. Or, stop a negative effect happening to them in that future encounter.

I think that's the best way to use puzzles in D&D!
