YouTube's Solution to Matched third party content - 'Remove claimed song'
Expand for the full story, facts, and links:
1. My botanicula P10 video had matched 3rd-party content by [Merlin] The State 51 Conspiracy for 'DVA - Bunky'
2. DVA is a band, http://www.2dva.cz/
3. DVA's FB page replied, "State 51 is official aggregator of digital Botanicula soundtrack. It's maintained by Minority records, ask them for details http://www.minorityrecords.com/"
4. Amanita Design didn't know who State 51 or Minority was stating, "Who is [Merlin] The State 51? The song is owned by Dva/Amanita Design and you are free to use in your video."
Note: I assumed 'free to use' didn't mean 'free to monetise', so I didn't push the issue.
5. I tried to appeal the 3rd-party content match but it was reinstated within 30 minutes by State 51.
6. State 51 and Minority Records never responded to my attempts to contact them.
7. YouTube has implemented a new Beta feature to remove the claimed audio while trying to maintain other tracks that are playing at the same time.
8. The 3rd-party matched content claim has been removed and I am now able to monetise my video as normal.
9. To hear the results, just skip to about the 11:05 mark on my Botanicula P10 video: http://youtu.be/FnD08lqEuaE
