I was already half way past Adventure World when the ATC decided to squeeze me directly in on Final Approach for RWY 06L so I had to somehow bleed 1500 feet of altitude in a fairly short distance (~2.5-3km), so I engaged 20 deg flaps and side slipped. It's not recommended to use full flaps while side slipping because of the rudder shadowing effect but it's never happened to me but either way I didn't want to risk it.
