Boss 5: Khonsclard
Nightmare Mode

The pattern hasn't changed as of yet, as the next Book of Ys is guarded higher in the tower like the others have been.

Khonsclard is the odd boss of the bunch: It can either be really hard or really easy. In order to defeat it, you have to chip away at the rocks that rotate around its main core and not the core itself. To stop you from attacking it throws out small streams of rocks in many directions at once.

The long way to do this is to try to squeeze in between the rocks it throws and try to hit it, then escape and come back for a second assault. The easy and logical way to do this is to run in very tight circles around it, staying on a constant assault while taking damage yourself. This way is only a guarantee if you follow its pattern of throwing rocks: it shoots them somewhat in a clockwise fashion, so if you time how when you begin running in the circle then you won't get hit by many of its projectiles. It's always best to stop circling if you're taking too much damage, since you will not survive on Nightmare if you try and outlast it like that. And chances are the video is already over by this point in the paragraph.
