Well we had to have a proper solo Adol boss fight at some point.

Difficulty: 8/10

Only the second half of her health bar matters as phase 1 has her so weak she can barely scratch you with 90% of her attacks with the only threat being her roar.
PHASE 2 HOWEVER IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NIGHTMARE!
She can now extend and disrupt her basic combos, her roar hits you up to 3 times, she can bust out the shield bash with very little telegraph, and the giant ice axe goes from a mild inconvenience to a major threat as it CAN NOT BE BLOCKED because most perilous attacks require the duo working together to parry them and this boss killed me 3 times so I had plenty of time seeing that attack and not blocking it.

STORY STUFF:
Karja's fatigue begins catching up to her and to make things worse we get shipwrecked on a twin island. We offer to help out Flair by going to find some potential medicine but her health takes a decline and she unconsciously begins calling out to her mother, we find a mysterious statue that can temporarily sever our tether allowing adol to go get some emergency medicine for her while waiting out the storm.
However when finding the medicine we go back to the spirit world and this time the old man wants to have a hoverboard race with us which make take a try or two.
We return only for Karja to attack us seemingly not in her right mind as her eyes have turned red and psychotic, this happened before but only for brief seconds, then the fight begins and Adol ultimately wins and knocks her out. As he's treating her you're able hear her calling to her mom again but this time less distressed and more relaxed.
The next morning you speak with her and she confesses that her berserker blood took control, possibly as a defensive measure to keep her alive, something her father also had and it gives them an immense power boost but it also makes them lose all sense of reason if not properly focused which can lead to the death of both themself and those they care about. She then tells us about her mother and the vague memories she has as her mom passed away when she was only 3 years old but during the night she heard her voice calling her back to her senses.

Once the cutscene ends the bond with Karja will strengthen and if you found her desired trinket then there's a good chance she'll now be at four star affinity, her and Dogi can both go up to five stars while other characters can go somewhere between 2 to 4 star affinity.
