ABOUT Z: STEEL SOLDIERS (2001)
While not as popular as the original 'Z' by the Bitmap Brothers, and having a rather out-of-date control scheme (e.g. cannot double click on a unit type to select all of that type, clunky interface etc making it a very micro-intensive game - you'll see me fighting with the interface / controls a lot since it's the game's biggest weak point in my opinion), this is still one of my favourite RTS games - the 3D graphics and sheer carnage that you could unload across the map, back when the game released in 2001, were just amazing at the time. While the game has aged since its release 16 years ago, I don't feel it has aged that badly - the game still looks and feels pleasant, and the positive feedback you get from spreading that carnage is intact. Until Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak's released, I hadn't played an RTS game as comfy as this. The story and dialogue featured in the cutscenes and mission briefings were pretty funny as well - it had a lot of character and didn't take itself too seriously, unlike a lot of other RTS games around that time (e.g. C&C, Homeworld, EARTH 2150 etc).

Since there's hardly any footage of the original Z: Steel Soldiers on YouTube, I decided to fill that niche a bit by playing through the whole story mode of the game (like I did with my EE: AoC campaigns series). Some of the last few missions do get pretty tough as well.

WHY AREN'T YOU PLAYING THE REMASTERED VERSION?
The remastered version by Ticktock Games, released back in 2014 and currently available on internet distributors (e.g. Steam), really didn't do the original game justice - it messed with the art style too much and actually broke / took away more than it added. There are many more bugs, frequent crashes (almost to the point of unplayable), no multiplayer mode and features an even clunkier interface. In my opinion, it's one of the worst game remasters ever made.

All of the videos for the campaign have not been uploaded yet. Give me time, I'll upload all of them. If you want to keep updated on the uploading progress, subscribe.
