In "Relics of the Past (2 of 2)," you may have noticed the skull on the ground wearing a powdered wig. That's Bonelich von Skeleski, Captain Barbaros' personal composer and orchestra conductor. He's a really weird fellow, a skeleton wearing a Shakespeare wig who's also part gramophone. Whenever you find his skull, go over there and ring Wiki, and he'll pop up out of the ground and ask that you play him a song. He'll play most of the song himself, but you'll have to supply one more part, usually the main melody. To do so, his ruffled collar will spin with a red pointer on the left. Shake the Wii Remote when a bell symbol aligns with the red pointer. (For best results, do it after it passes his pointed finger but before the red pointer.) When there's a squiggly line, you need to keep shaking the Wii Remote until the line finishes. The biggest problem people have is that they aren't shaking the Wii Remote hard enough. Bonelich demands some pretty vigorous shakes of the Wii Remote, and if you're just gently or lazily waggling that thing, it won't count. (Also, make sure the Wii Remote's position is about the same when you finish the shake. He looks to see if you've moved the Wii Remote back to its original position too.)

You may notice that the songs sound...anachronistic. Apparently, Bonelich von Skeleski is a Capcom fan, since every song he demonstrates to you has previously been in a Capcom game. In "Relics of the Past," the song is from Bionic Commando, an NES game recently remade for the PSP. Bionic Commando is a platformer where the titular protagonist grapples onto things rather than jumping.

Bonelich rewards Zack with Secret Treasure Map 6. It's identified on Maddie's map towards the south, marked with a big blue X. After claiming the treasures on the previous mission, he goes to see what was hidden over here. Meanwhile, I take Zack back to "Flute of the Growlin' Goblins" to show you a Bonelich appearance I missed earlier.

The song you play for Bonelich in "Flute" is from Ghosts 'n' Goblins (appropriately). This is an early stage in the game, so Bonelich is pretty merciful here. You can see that the bells are pretty spread out, and the fast tempo actually helps you in that you don't have to anticipate the beats as much. Ghosts 'n' Goblins is a game for the NES in which you take the role of young Arthur and defeat all the evil spirits so he can become King. This game was legendarily tough--no one has ever beaten it without a cheat code from a hacking device.

I already got the treasure for this stage, so I just come back for the reward from the previous encounter with Bonelich, and it turns out to be a Quantifier, which means Maddy can dig up more treasure for each spot that I send him off to! Pretty neat.

After that, I check out the new stuff Maddy has brought back.
