BMF54123 looked into this last night when we couldn't get it working on the real console; turns out a pesky emulation bug had us all wrong for years, all the way back to the original TCRF page: http://bmf.rustedmagick.com/cr/zanac.htm

It's still a doozy of a code:
• You need a Famicom, the Famicom Keyboard, and the US (!) version of the game
• Soft reset the game nine times
• Type in "@COMPILE" and hit return
• From there, pause and press CLR/HOME, DEL, and INS to do various things

FCEU(X) has a weird bug where something gets corrupt/mishandled in the keyboard scanning and it skips the first character, so the page (and all the people who copied it, cough) say you just have to type "COMPILE", no at symbol. Welp.

We'll update the wiki proper later. We were looking into the FDS version, but it looks like the code was stripped out of it.
