Most people will have heard of Doom ; the fore-runner of many FPS games.
ZDaemon is simply a port of this old classic, allowing online multiplayer in an effective, easy-to-use way; complete with server browser and an experience-points based system, and the usual gameplay modes such as DM, TDM, CTF and Coop (my personal fav.)
I would recommend trying the Scythe, Coopbuildlm, and some of the rocketjumping wads (Masterjumps etc.), and for quick DM the old Brit wads.
Graphically, the game is showing it's age of course. But, gameplay-wise, it still holds it's own with it's fast-paced, old school formula.
nb. this clip also shows some of the advanced 'zdoom' features, not present in the original version- sloping walls, mirrors, polyobjs (sliding doors), ACS scripting etc.
