Need for Speed: The Run, the eighteenth installment in the series at the moment of its announcement, was released in 2011 for the major consoles, PC and Nintendo 3DS.
It was also available for J2me (3D and 2D versions) and for BREW phones.

Due to some EA's gameplay decisions the full version of the game was considered by critics the worst from the series when it was released. Probably due to this recoil, EA decided to scrap the iOS version, which was planned and developed, at last minute. Neither was it made for Android despite it was 2011.

According to the game plot you have to race from San Francisco to New York, unlocking new cars and game modes on the way. To unlock new achievement you need to finish first in a race. A quick play mode is also available.

BREW version was decent from technological point of view. A version for LG VX10000 is demonstrated here.
