This is a speed run for Zelda 3 using the jump glitch right after you pick up Princess Zelda. This was recorded using an emulator in real time, as a sort of example of what a console run of this sort might look like. I lack the equipment to record a console run.

SDA would likely never accept this run, even if it was recorded on a console. In fact, this sort of glitch is listed in their FAQ as a prime example of a run they would not accept as the glitch abuse is "too extreme."

I'm certain this video can be improved by a significant amount of time, a truly practiced run might be 15-20 seconds faster. Under SDA timing rules, I believe this run would clock in at 6:13, with the character control starting at 0:55, and the final input pressed at 7:08. Clearly, a sub-6-minute run should be possible.

As a final note, watch how the ending has the transparent rain effect, and the really cool transparent sanctuary effect at that particular scene. The credits are also quite messed up. Also, if you load the save after completing it in this manner, you end up with an unplayable mess, starting in the Dark World as bunny Link with Zelda following you and all the enemies look messed up.
