Previously, Link climbed the path from the Foothill Stable to Goron City on Death Mountain. Along the way, he activated the Eldin Tower. At the Southern Mine, he also completed the quest "Fireproof Lizard Roundup" to acquire the Flamebreaker Armor. In Goron City, he bought the Flamebreaker Boots and Flamebreaker Helm. The Flamebreaker set protects against environmental flame damage, so it is worth the cost. Now, our hero will explore Goron City and begin the main quest "Divine Beast Vah Rudania".

After resuming, Link continues exploring Goron City. Be sure to break up the pots. Many of them contain rupees.

The armor shop, Ripped and Shredded sells the Flamebreaker gear set, which is darn near mandatory for an extended exploration of Death Mountain. A little kid named Offrak sells Fireproof Elixir.

Just inside town is Death Mountain Marker #5 (time 1:58). Welcome to town!

The Rollin' Inn offers normal accommodations, as well as a dangerous-sounding massage. The inn also has a Gerudo customer named Ramella. She suggests using Fireproof Elixirs, which is a good idea if you cannot afford the armor set.

The Goron Gusto Shop offers Rock Salt, Fire Arrows, Ice Arrows, Goron Spice, and Cane Sugar. Unfortunately, there are only three of each type of arrows available at a time. Link will have to go elsewhere to stock up.

The Protein Palace sells some basic food: Toasty Hylian Shroom, Seared Steak, and Roasted Bass. Unfortunately, it is not very restorative.

In the north, Link finds Fugo in front of the house of Rohan, the master blacksmith (time 7:43). Fugo needs someone to defeat the Igneo Talus at Darunia Lake to help him earn Master Rohan's favor. This starts the side quest "The Road to Respect". It may be a while before Link does this one!

In a house west of the Protein Palace, Link finds Bladon (time 10:47). Bladon needs help finding his little brother, who is seeking the "secret of the hero" at the Gorko Tunnel off Gorko Lake. This starts the shrine quest "A Brother's Roast".

In the east, the party talks to the Goron boss, Bludo (time 13:01). Bludo explains the problems Vah Rudania has been causing. He needs help finding Yunobo, who has gone to the Abandoned North Mine. This starts the main quest "Divine Beast Vah Rudania". By the way, "Rudania" is a word scramble of Darunia, the name of the Goron boss in Ocarina of Time. Next stop: the Abandoned North Mine.

There is a convenient goddess statue by Bludo's house (time 15:42). Link marks its location on his map.

Up the slope north of Bludo's house, the party finds the Shae Mo'sah Shrine (time 16:53). Just north of the shrine, he can find a Rock Octorok. Rock Octoroks spit explosive rocks at Link. However, while it is inhaling prior to spitting, Link can throw a Remote Bomb at it. Once it has swallowed the bomb, detonating the bomb will destroy it.

Friendly warning: do not pull out Bomb Arrows in burning air. They will blow up in Link's face.

Link operates the Shae Mo'sah Shrine's pedestal (time 17:35). The shrine opens, and its travel gate activates.
