Zelda: Ocarina of Time Playthrough #041, Lost Woods: Moblin-Infested Meadow
This is video #041 in my Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time playthrough. Link returns to the Lost Woods to take the Odd Potion to the Cucco lady's brother. However, he is no longer there; a Kokiri girl is in his place. She says some rather ominous things and insists that Link turn over the Odd Potion to her. That's kind of bossy of her, isn't it? But in return, she gives Link the Poacher's Saw.
This is part of the Biggoron's Sword quest. You can actually complete it now if you wish, but I will wait a little longer.
The route through the Lost Woods has not changed. However, east of the shortcut to Goron City, Link finds his way north barred by Mido. How does Link prove that he is Saria's friend? Simple: play Saria's song. Mido will once again move out of the way.
Straight to the north and west, in the grove where Link could go to the Forest Stage in the past, Link can now ride the flying bean plant up to a ledge where Gold Skulltula #53 is lurking at night.
In the Sacred Forest Meadow to the north, Link will encounter Moblins patrolling the narrow passageways. If they see Link, they will charge him. However, they're not too bright. They are fairly easy to ambush and kill with the Hookshot.
At night, Gold Skulltula #54 can be found scratching around on the eastern wall near the fairy's fountain.
The northern corridor leading to the temple is blocked by a Moblin wielding a club. When it hits the ground with this club, it will send a shockwave at Link. To deal with this, hold Z to keep facing forward. Stay to one side of the corridor. When the Moblin hits the ground, strafe to the other side and continue forward. Eventually, you should wind up behind the Moblin. The beast is too stupid to turn around, so it should be simple to slash it in the back with the Master Sword.
Up in Saria's meadow, Link will have another run-in with Sheik. The Sheikah survivor will teach him the Minuet of Forest, which will transport him back to this meadow.
When the scenes are over, we'll see why Link needs the Hookshot to get into the temple. The stairway is broken, but a tree limb is overhanging the temple entrance.
It is now time to explore the Forest Temple.
Thanks for watching!
