This is video #038 in my Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days playthrough. Roxas and Axel are on Mission 23 on Day 74. Along their way to the Woods to check out Pence's tip, they first explore the Tram Common. There are three treasures in this area. In the south alcove, exterminate the Poison Plant before opening the chest to get a Blazing Shard. In the north alcove, weedwhack another Poison Plant before opening the chest to get a Moonstone. Atop the west-central building top, another chest contains another Moonstone.

Note: My backpack is full at this point, doggone it. I will come back later to get the remaining chests.

To the east, in the Woods, you will see that some leaves are falling from a tree. Have Roxas hit this tree with his blade. This dislodges some creature, which rushes off towards the Old Mansion.

Before heading to the Old Mansion, however, you can fight a tough optional battle. In the Underground, a Zip Slasher will now spawn! Be very careful of its attacks; they really hurt. This creature will drop a Combo Tech when defeated. This synthesis ingredient is useful later in the game.

Over in front of the Old Mansion, Roxas and Axel will find the Veil Lizard. This is not too different from the Stealth Sneak in Kingdom Hearts, but there are a few wrinkles specific to this game. When the lizard spins around, it may inflict blindness on a character that gets hit. When his eye-lasers hit Roxas, the mini-map may be disabled for a short time. The Veil Lizard will turn invisible periodically, but its target marker will still be visible on the mini-map.

Partway through the battle, Xion will appear on the scene and get creamed. Don't worry too much, though; just finish the lizard off.

Once the battle is over, Roxas, Axel, and Xion talk while eating ice cream atop the station tower. It's a bit interesting that Xion's face is visible from Roxas's perspective, but not at first from Axel's perspective. It seems that she's got a problem, which is why she could not defeat her target and return to the castle. Fortunately, Axel has a useful solution.

The most valuable reward for this mission is the Air Slide (2) panel, which allows Roxas to dash forward in midair after jumping. This is very useful in conjunction with the Lift Gear or Lift Gear+ weapon panel to cross long distances while jumping.

There is no Ordeal Badge or Unity Badge for this mission, in case you were wondering.
