Previously, Link began exploring the Goron Mines, the game's second dungeon. He got the first Key Shard from Gor Amoto, one of the Goron elders, and reached the north-central room with catwalks over a pond.

After resuming, he employs Ooccoo Jr.'s services to return to where he left off (time 0:42). In the north-central room, be careful of the Bokoblin archers to the north; Link has no way to fight them off at the moment.

In the west, he finds a chest containing a Small Key (time 1:20). He uses this right away to take the eastern door (time 1:40).

The next chamber to the east features a couple of rotating platforms. The second one has magnetic deposits for Link to adhere to with the Iron Boots as he crosses.

On the far side, Link passes through the door to the northeast room (time 2:32). Another Goron elder, the hunched Gor Ebizo, waits here. He hands over Key Shard #2. Also, he advises Link to pick up pick up a weapon left behind by a hero of old.

Also in this room, there is a chest containing a Yellow Rupee, worth 10 R (time 4:25).

After climbing the ladder, Link takes the upper-level western door (time 5:02). The magnetic strip along the wall will let him reach the southern platform.

In the southeast corner, there is a chest containing another Yellow Rupee, worth 10 R (time 5:33).

Then, Link takes the door south (time 5:47). As he starts across, he finds the hulking Biggoron waiting for him! Biggoron mistakes him for a thief. He knocks the large circular platform into the lava.

After a scene, it is time to fight Biggoron (time 6:35). Link should keep on the Iron Boots so the big fellow doesn't knock him off the circular platform. Ideally, Link should position himself so that his back is close to the edge. Biggoron hits very hard, especially when he lifts both hands over his head. However, his big windup gives Link the perfect opportunity to deal a combo of blows to Biggoron's belly. The combo finisher will knock Biggoron down spinning. At this point, Link must grab Biggoron with A and hopefully toss him into the lava. Biggoron will be well done after three dunks in the lava.

At the end of the battle, Biggoron will speak again (time 8:02). He will now let Link take the weapon of the hero of the past.

Afterwards, Link heads through the southern door (time 9:25). The large chest here contains the Hero's Bow (time 9:40). It comes with the basic Quiver, which holds up to 30 arrows. Fortunately, it comes pre-filled. I find the Hero's Bow useful and powerful in this entry. One of my few complaints is that the GameCube version does not give the player a targeting reticle like the Wii version, but the manual aiming is still pretty good.

Link has to practice using his new weapon right away to open up the drawbridge to the south (time 10:39). Aim directly for the rope holding it. To the south, there are several inactive Beamos statues. They activate when Link approaches the southern statue. Defeating a Beamos is as simple as shooting it in the eye. He defeats each Beamos statue and pulls it out of the way.

In the western alcove, there is a chest containing the Compass (time 12:37). At last!

Afterwards, Link passes through the door to the east (time 13:11). The last Goron elder does not offer his name, but he does hand over Key Shard #3. Link automatically puts them together and forms the Big Key! The Goron elder asks Link to go directly to Darbus's room.

On the platform behind the last elder, Link finds a chest containing a Purple Rupee, worth 50 R (time 14:51).

From the room with the Beamos statues, Link heads south (time 15:42). Here, there are Fire Keese near the start, Fire Slugs on the stalactites, and Dodongos on platforms, as well as one on a magnetic ceiling. Near the start, Link must roll into the fence to knock it down. All enemies are fairly easy prey with the Hero's Bow. The Dodongos require three arrows to the tail. On the second platform in the lava, be careful of the Fire Slugs waiting. The Fire Slugs frequently drop arrows, so don't worry about ammo.

In the southwest corner, Link has to use the Iron Boots on the switch to get to the magnetic ceiling (time 18:30). Above the door, he must shoot the crystal switch to open up the western gate (time 19:10).

Description continued in the comments.
