Zen 3 Focuses on Efficiency & AMD Explains 7nm Performance | Intel To Discuss Discrete GPU Soon
At the Companies next horizon event, AMD explained that they believed TSMCs 7nm process will provide about a 1.25x jump (at the same power consumption), which was a different figure we'd heard previously from both TSMC and AMD. AMD's Mark Papermaster has since explained that is due to the fact TSMC used a simple design as a proof of concept but scaled up to a larger and more complex piece of silicon such as a processor, AMD's figures are more accurate.
Zen 2 will, of course, be launching next year.
Amd has also explained that Zen 3 will focus on efficiency and to this end will leverage EUV.
Intel has also clarified that they will reveal more information of their discrete gpus known as both arctic and Jupiter sound this December,
