00:17 RAM, 1:29 what an APU is, 1:43 good things about APU’s, 2:59 4750G performance, 3:56 Star Wars Squadrons system requirements oddity, 4:44 games and cores, 5:12 you can use 3000 instead of 5000, 5:51 1080p budget, 6:10 3600 & 3600X price differences, 6:47 1440p, 7:17 Streamers, 7:46 workstation, 8:18 B550M Aorus Pro, 9:00 X570/Prime-P, 9:51 differences in B550 and X570

Short version: 3600 for budget/1080p. If the 3600X is cheaper than the 3600 you can get 5% more performance with that. 3700X/5700X for 1440p. 3900X/5900X or 3950X/5950X for workstation

Ryzen 5000 will be launching at Ryzen 3000 prices. If at any point the 3600 becomes roughly the cost of a 5600, then that is worth the change

I did not cover it but if you play WoW, League, Mobile games or the likes, you should be able to get away with an APU (no video card). If you are a Streamer the 6 core APU coming out should give you good graphics and CPU encoding space. The B550M is still good for that as it has an audio quality, and other advantages over the A520

If the B550M is not available, the next best alternative I am aware of is the Asrock B550M Pro 4

My personal preference when building is to populate all 4 RAM slots with 3000 MHZ CL16 32GB (for Streaming or 1440p builds). As I stated, I go by Asrock's recommendations but there are other recommendations out there. Feel free to build or upgrade as you see fit

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/PRIME-X570-P/ If going beyond 8 cores this is the motherboard I tend to build with. Alternatively you can spend a little more on this if you want https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/TUF-GAMING-X570-PLUS/ Though I do recommend determining what your needs are. These may not work for some workstation builds
