To save Jeff and Beetroot take the shortest number of steps to get to them.



The 3rd Exploration Data can be found after picking up enough Gear Coins and buying the Treasure detector from the guy on the first area, then proceeding to the second area, something will change. You can do this after saving Jeff, but proceeding further will lock you into the area where Beetroot is and will prevent you from returning to buy Treasure Detector. You can redo the mission to complete both objectives.

Failing to save Beetroot will cause a conversation with Abigail when she returns to thank you for saving her life, where she cries as you tell her how her Companion "Died" half Gouged out by an Ethereal while looking in her direction knowing that Beetroot ran out of the safehouse to distract an Ethereal and was not actually Malfunctioning.
