Hey guys! So I thought I'd start doing something a little different on this channel, so I'm starting to do otome route and game reviews!
People who know me well know I don't care for Zeus (I much prefer him in later routes as opposed to him in his own route) and since Zeus is the start of the new era of Wizardess, I decided to start with him.
I know I have the unpopular opinion of disliking Zeus and his route, but I want to be open about why I don't like him and why I didn't care for his route. I don't think this is the worst otome route in the world, but it was very exhausting for me to read. Tbh I honestly hope if you read Zeus' route, you end up liking it. No one should be miserable reading routes.
Also ngl there were some things I forgot to record so here they are (spoilers)
- There are hints that suggest the MC's attracted to Zeus, but a problem I forgot to bring up was some of them get buried really quickly by actions in the story OR they're so subtle they can interpreted in a different way. For example, the MC being flustered in the beginning when they're hiding from Klaus. While that could be taken as interest, it's also super early and the MC is someone that's easily flustered (and also who wouldn't be flustered when someone grabs you from behind? or am I just really touch starved). And also the attraction =/= having fun or being cheerful imo. But I'll own up that I did miss some stuff.
- I honestly don't mind Zeus' arrogance and narcissism. Like, it doesn't bother me at all and I don't think it's a flaw necessarily. I just don't like it when he's mean to other people and saying they're beneath him.
- I don't think romance should always be spoonfed to readers, but in this case I would have liked it because Zeus was so unlikeable to me and I was so angry reading this route that I would have liked some assistance in being convinced I was falling in love with Zeus.
- why couldn't we had dated him after he softened up a bit? : ( Later seasons Zeus is so much more enjoyable and honestly as much as Zeus isn't one of my faves, I'm absolutely bummed we didn't get to date later reasons Zeus.
