♫Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah, Eurobeat Mix (DDR Disney) SNES Arrangement - NintendoComplete
This is an arrangement of the eurobeat mix of Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah that was used in Konami's 2001 game Dance Dance Revolution Disney Mix, also known as Disney's Rave. It has been arranged for native playback on SNES hardware, and the audio was recorded directly from a launch-model SNES deck.
Disney and driving sideways... who would've thought the pairing would work so well? I did this because I always liked the song in DDR and I thought it would make for a good challenge. It certainly didn't disappoint there, and it gave me the chance to try out a few things out that I had been thinking on. The lead brass instrument is actually in stereo - I split a stereo sample into two mono samples and panned them opposite one another, I used tempo changes instead of note delay commands to time notes that don't land nicely on 16ths (*so much easier!*), the bass lines are using about half a dozen separate samples to mimic an analog sound, and I used the surround effect with some square and saw waves to help cover the gaps in the abridged chords. None of that skirts the fact that the SNES APU's 64K of ram and eight sound channels is wholly insufficient for this genre of music, but I had a blast trying.
Thanks for listening, and I hope you enjoy it. I'd love to hear any feedback you might have!
