Sonic 3 & Knuckles (Genesis) Playthrough
298A playthrough of Sega's 1994 mascot-platformer for the Sega Genesis, Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
After playing through Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (https://youtu.be/uPxe0IaFyjo) and Sonic & Knuckles (https://youtu.be/22hao8ZHGrs) as stand-alone games, I now present to you the whole enchilada. Here is Sonic 3 as it was meant to be played.
By combining the two cartridges, you get a huge 34 megabit adventure made up of over two dozen sprawling stages that can be played through as Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles. The story changes slightly based on who you play through it as, and you can now unlock Hyper Sonic or Hyper Knuckles if you collect all seven chaos emeralds and all seven super emeralds.
You also get new music in a few spots in Sonic 3, as well as the ability to save in the Sonic & Knuckles stages.
They're each great games on their own, but when put together, this fist bump is one of the best platformers of the 90s.
(But those 3D stages are soooo annoying, and now you have fourteen of them to clear for the best ending! Even after practicing them over and over, it took me so many recording attempts to get through the game without screwing them up for this video!)
