About The Magic Mountaineer
This channel is for casual gaming.
The title is derived from Thomas Mann's novel 'The Magic Mountain'.
One of the topics of this complex and deep novel is how one can get lost in time under special circumstances.
I live in Japan, which is as special for me as it gets: a different culture that I respect but will never get used to.
Just like the hero of Mann's book, I often feel confused by the circumstances, and gaming is a wonderful distraction during those hours.
I enjoy a variety of games.
At the moment I'm mostly into X-Com 2 and Magic: The Gathering - playing on Arena -, but I'll occasionally post about other games too.
In 'real life' I'm doing research on philosophy and teach English, Philosophy and other humanities and social science subjects at high school and unis.
