About Cormorant42
Music for patient people.
I make things. Sometimes music (mostly music), sometimes pixel art, sometimes games or game prototypes, sometimes code snippets. I will never monetize my videos, never ask for subscribers, but I might put a Patreon or Itch.io link in the description occasionally. New music every other day until I forget, get tired/bored, or run out of things to post.
My philosophy of music is this: longform music, which has gone out of style in pop culture but which thrives in classical / metal / prog / "fringe" music communities, is objectively better than short, catchy pop songs because of the increased emotional release it can build. Wicked's "Defying Gravity" climax is powerful for the same reason as the climax of Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture: delayed gratification, which is a trait I believe our society has lost.
Edit: in case it isn't clear already, I write a LOT of music.
