About Happy Paws ♡ Duqm City
As an expat in Oman, I feel guilty for not having a future plan for my furbabies. My spouse and I never intended to keep pets, knowing our stay here is uncertain. We lack the financial means to bring them to the Philippines and live far from city resources and veterinary clinics. Initially, we avoided getting attached to stray animals, but circumstances left us no choice.
What started as feeding them outside turned into caring for them and eventually letting them into our home. Despite trying to find adopters through social media, we had no luck. They became family, and we prioritize their needs, even during financial struggles.
The thought of being sent home and leaving them behind is heartbreaking. I often wonder who will care for them. If only we could stay in Oman until they grow old and leave us naturally, sparing them the pain of abandonment.
