Сантака 002 (Santaka): Part 4 (Loading software)
Made up an EAR lead to load software in from my Mac - I used a program to convert TAP/TZX files back to WAV files which I then simply play in Audacity.
The EAR cable was pretty simple ... 3.5mm mono plug on one end and a 5-pin DIN (surprise!) using pins 2 (ground) and 3 (ear). The opposite cable ... MIC ... uses pins 2 and 1 (mic).
The machine came with a 3-pin DIN lead that could be used for either MIC or EAR.
And ... it worked straight away (once I'd gotten the cable right). No need to adjust volume or gain levels.
I tried two modern 48KB games that I'd bought earlier when I had my Spectrum Next: "Vradarks Sphere" and "Pi-Dentity". No idea how to play either ... didn't want to disappoint you with a well-researched and rehearsed video.
Next ... convert a decadent Western joystick from the capitalist yoke of the DE9 plug to the workers' freedom of 5-pin DIN plug.
