This is the second random source music for the bar, being played by an alien band. It also appears in the original Space Quest I demo and even in a Space Quest preview contained in certain versions of King's Quest II. The music, especially the bass line, is an arrangment of "Too Much Time On My Hands", composed and written and sung by Tommy Shaw of the band Styx. It was almost certainly not licensed by Sierra. (Note: This song does not appear in the VGA remake, being replaced with a song sung by Madonna.)

This music has been recorded directly from an authentic MT-32 (with which the music was composed) from the original midi data. However, the original sysex data could not be located, so the instruments have been reassigned to match the similar sysex used in Space Quest II. Due to the hardware limitations of the MT-32 causing polyphony problems, if necessary, each channel has been recorded independently and then merged into a single track. Therefore, no notation data is lost through polyphony limitations and the tracks may be heard at their fullest.

The official MT-32 version of this game's soundtrack has never been previously released, but an edited version was used in the Apple IIGS editions. Because the 1987 edition replaced some of the themes from the original game, MT-32 versions of these missing themes have been unofficially created using the 1986~1987 editions' data.
