The “Surprise Me” button takes a break this episode as our hosts investigate another listener request. Up for review this time is Arkane Lyon’s first-person shooter about being caught in a time loop. As you may have guessed, this loop is definitely linked to death. More specifically, it resets on the player’s death and can only be broken by assassinating a set of key characters before the day is done. How exactly this is accomplished is left to the player to decide and any knowledge gathered stays with the player even when the loop restarts. Will this blatant roguelite mechanic cause Chris to recoil in disgust? Will the Arkane pedigree help him overcome any misgivings? Will the first hour of the vaguely time-travel plot be enough grab Tom’s attention and keep him playing after his time is up? Well, the hour has been played and now it is time to decide. Is this a game loop they are going to be playing or breaking?
