1 Intro
0NOTE: It took me roughly three days to edit in all the text for this video. THERE WILL BE DELAYS AND IRREGULAR UPLOADS. Also, if this mass of text is any indication of what I'll be dealing with throughout the game, expect videos without gameplay to be... how shall I say it... brief. Consider this video more of a proof of concept rather than a proper entry. The next one will have a custom thumbnail, too.
Wachenröder, then. I know nothing at all about this game, except that it was developed for the Sega Saturn and was never released outside of Japan. I bought it because it was an SRPG and some screenshots looked a bit like Shining Force III (which was incorrect, by the way, but I don't mind at this point). I have tested the game to make sure that it works, at least, but I didn't play much farther than beating the first fight. While it's tempting to make comparisons to other classic SRPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics, the fights play out more like a mash-up of Fallout 1 and Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth. You'll see what I mean.
The setting is quite bleak. I have no idea at all where the story is going, but in the next video we'll get a mighty kick in the feels. Possibly. Maybe the one after that. Actual gameplay will happen before episode 10, I promise.
