#1 Nioh 2 - Main Mission: The Village of Cursed Blossoms
84Nioh 2 is an Action RPG co-developed by Team Ninja and Kou Shibusawa which is the next entry in the Nioh franchise. A prequel to the previous game, you will be playing a character named Hide who is a half-human, half-yokai entity called a "Shiftling". The setting is within the year 1500s of Japan and its plot focuses on the stories of the rise and fall of warlords Nobunaga Oda and Hideyoshi Toyotomi. As Hide, you will endeavor to pursue and stop an entity named Kashin Koji who influences and cause many of the major events that unfold in the story and also to know your history and purpose in the world. Mainly supporting you are the Amrita-seeker Tōkichirō, the demon hunter Mumyo and some other well known historical figures in the history of Japan.
A game which received positive review scores of 85 (PS4) and 86 (PC). Although receiving a lower score that its predecessor, the game was considered an upgrade to the previous game as its issues was fixed and the new mechanics it added in the game puts more depth into its gameplay. On the other hand, the story and difficulty were still a subject of its criticism. Although, the bosses were considered interesting even if each of them were frustrating in their own way.
As for me, I really loved the game. Although I would have preferred of using another known figure like William in the first game since having a created character makes for another emotionless silent protagonist, it is still a welcome addition to the game. The story is still a letdown but the characters makes up for it due to being numerous. The difficulty was ok for me and in fact, found it easier as there are no more double bosses in the game. The added mechanics like the Yokai abilities and Burst Counters are all great as its puts more uniqueness to your character and fresh ideas in the series. Overall, a big upgrade for me and I surely recommend this awesome game to fans of the soulsborne-like or just challenging games. Enjoy this walkthrough!!!
