10 Mistakes ⚠️ To Avoid When Buying Used Boats: Part 1 - Backyard Boaters
In this episode of Boat Trader's Backyard Boaters video series, we take a look at the top mistakes to avoid and issues to keep an eye out for when buying a used boat. In part one Ryan McVinney joins Shawn Joy in the shop to go over the most common mechanical and structural aspects on trailerable boats. From considering whether or not you want a project boat for a boat restoration project, or a turnkey boat ready for the water, the crew inspects all the major parts of the boat and discusses some red flags and warning signs. Some of the finer details about all the areas of a boat to inspect are covered, including the strength of the transom, the engine compression, the structural condition of the hull and the condition of the boat's deck. Stay tuned for part two, next up in the Backyard Boaters series where we cover more in-depth DIY boat maintenance and repair projects that boaters can do for their own backyards, driveways and garages.
