10 Things in Video Games That Don't Make Sense | Generation Tech
1,141We love Video Games! But there are some things that just don't make sense in video games or are just stupid, dumb or lazy. Here is my list of ten:
1. Magical Consumables: Eating food, drink, alcohol and painkillers to heal yourself. Games like Skyrim, Fallout 4 and max payne are horrible about this.
2. Inventory Space: Some games have unlimited inventory space other have fake weight systems. Grand theft auto series is notorious for this. Fallout 4 and Skyrim have these unrealistic weight system. The original Resident Evil did this one right.
3. Weird Loot Pickups: Why is that you always find such random loot in mobs you kill in video games. A lot of loot heavy rpgs suffer from this especially mmorpgs like Warcraft online and star wars knights of the old republic online. Knights of the old republic I and II did it right.
4. Auto refill magazines: Once you discard of a half used magazines the bullets don't just refill yourself it makes no sense! Battlefield and the Call of Duty series are big offenders of this rule. Arma is one of the few games that does it right.
5. Female Armor: Some female arm is so scant and sexy that it makes no sense for them to even wear it into battle because it literally covers nothing. Tera I'm looking at you also a lot of Japanese rpgs and mmorpgs. Final fantasy series as well. Mass effect does a good job usually.
6. Uncharacteristic Characters: Sometimes the most morale characters seem to commit mass slaughter and are also prolific thieves which really goes against the characters value. Deus Ex and Grand Theft Auto are great examples of this.
7. Ubisoft Viewpoints: I hate Ubisoft Viewpoints which is in every assassins creed, and farcry game. Metal gear solid V does this right.
8. Two Page Book: Books and newspapers are always extremely short in games. Deus Ex, Skyrim and The Witcher series are known for this one
9. Weird Revives: Slapping your buddy on the back in co-op to revive in Gears of War and Army of Two and using a defibrillator in Battlefield 4 and adrenaline syringe guns in Rainbow Six Seige
10: Eternal Battle: When the computer becomes lazy and create unlimited mobs and ai controlled characters to overwhelm the player. Witcher II and Total War Attila abuse this one.
