Everyone knows that there’s only one Batman out there patrolling the streets of Gotham City and keeping people safe. Well, except when there isn’t. It turns out there are quite a few characters who have pretended to be the Dark Knight for various reasons over the years and with varying degrees of sanity. Dick Grayson worked with Bruce Wayne for so long as Robin and Nightwing that it wasn’t surprising when he filled in as the main man for a period of time. Even his devoted butler Alfred Pennyworth stepped up when the chips were down. Some people who put on the cape were relatives including Damian Wayne and Thomas Wayne, while others were simply adopted into the family like Jason Todd or Terry McGinnis. While some tried to take on the role of a hero, others like the villain Bane only had evil deeds on their mind. And then there’s Hugo Strange who decided that the only way to hunt down our hero was to think like our hero and dress like him just for good measure. Even the famous Clark Kent put on the mask for a period of time and for a pretty ridiculous, over the top reason.
