One of the disadvantages of human encroachment is that the animals are now getting back at us by becoming unwanted visitors. They have now mastered the art of sleeping on our couches, invading stores, and even making their way to the kitchen to serve themselves.
These ten times are practical examples of nature getting too close to us!
10. Slow and steady take over
Invasion from the Florida Everglades is becoming commonplace these days. Hardly a day passes without news from the area. It has become so common that people who live there are used to it and fear for their lives. Most time, these invaders grow up to four feet in length and are easily identified by their physical features like spotted scales. These creatures are native to Argentina and are known as the white or black Argentine tegu. They are scattered around southern Florida, and it doesn't seem they will stop anytime soon.
These reptiles are omnivores and eat practically anything that comes their way, even if it is without any nutritional value. This is terrible news for the fauna in the area as it doesn't allow them to thrive. To make matters worse, these reptiles are spreading their wings so fast that two other countries are victims of their existence. Like many nuisances like this one, they begin as pets, then gradually become uncontrollable before taking over the ecosystem.

9. Bathroom bite
I know humans appreciate and preserve nature, but what happens when nature works against us? It is not the first time we hear of animal encroachment in private residences and the havoc they wreck within a short time. In their defense, we began the raid first when we took over their habitat and built roads, hospitals, schools, industries, etc. Maybe it's payback time, and there's no going back. You can't help but feel pity for this Thai man whose house was raided by a python.
While he was in the toilet relieving himself, the slithery creature made its way through the plumbing pipe and bit him. You can guess the part of his body that was affected. Just take a wild guess. Yes, you're right. He was rushed to the hospital after he screamed for help. Rescuers who stormed the scene found the python's head hanging from the bathroom door while the rest of its body was stuck in the squat toilet. Both the animal and man were safe from the invasion as rescuers didn't hurt the snake.

8. Bear through a pet door
When an event happens too frequently, it becomes too normal to cause a stir on social media. Even an invasion from a wildie would be treated as usual. If you doubt me, ask Douglas Harder how he has been coping with countless bear invasions in his home. It has become so frequent that he laughs it off because he doesn't want to battle nature. This young man has pets at home and installed a pet door so that his dog and cat can have access to the outer world. However, he is aware of the downsides as the opening may welcome all sorts of wild animals.
In his case, it is the bear that constitutes all the nuisance they can create. A bear got in while he was out of the house, but thankfully, it stuck in the pet door. The man took a photo of the animal before phoning the authorities. It seemed Douglas was already used to the invasion as this incident was the third time in his house. He also shared clips from two other scenarios where bears invaded his home.

7. Baby seal chilling
Annette Swoffer, a New Zealander, got the shock of her life when she got into her house and found a baby seal sleeping on her couch. This has to be the height of it, she muttered to herself. It has gotten so bad that these creatures find solace in enclosed areas like homes. Even their habitats do not give them as much protection as they deserve. The poor animal sat innocently without making trouble. It had wandered from the bay waterfront through a residential area.
What baffled her the most was how the animal maneuvered the busy roads, gate, stairs, and other hurdles before making her way into the house. It should have been found dead while trying to cross the road because it didn't seem that the road users cared that it had an important assignment to execute. Like every nature lover, she didn't harm the animal but allowed it to have a peaceful sleep before calling the authorities to do the needful.
