10 Ways Spider-Man’s Death Could Affect The MCU
2,407Our favorite web-slinger as an Avenger! His upcoming solo film is right around the corner and speculation is running hot. What happens in Phase 4 if the old web boy bites the bullet? Well, that’s what we’ll be looking at today here at CBR.
The Amazing Spider had been entrusted by the prior leader, Iron Man, with a lot of responsibility, he was Tony Stark’s protege. Stark gave him a lot of tech and advice to see him become the hero Earth needed but as we all know, with great power comes great responsibility. Right now he is Earth’s heroic symbol. He may not be the strongest hero Earth has, but he is most definitely the one it needs in a time of uncertainty. If The Spider were to perish in the upcoming film, what does that mean for the future of the franchise? Who would step up if the web crawler wasn’t around? Earth only has so many heroes with that level of recognition.
With Captain America out of the picture, for many people living on Earth, the outlook seems fairly bleak. What if another villain like Thanos were to come and we weren’t able to stop him? Stark expected the web boy to take his role, and be the leader for the future. If he isn’t able to make it to that point, the future seems bleak.
There’s also the question of Disney and Sony. At the moment, Disney does not own the cinematic rights to this franchise, which still falls squarely in the legal jurisdiction of Sony Entertainment. It’s possible that Sony is looking to get out of their arrangement, and if that is the case, offing this Spider may just be the best way to end their arrangement, unfortunate as it may be.
