12 of the best Tower Defense Games on Steam l 2023
79It's been nearly 2 and half years and a few people have kindly reminded me my Tower Defense list was a little bit of out date. So with a several new TD titles releasing this year I felt now was the right time to re-evaluate that list.
Early access titles proved to be something of a discussion point. Should I only include finished games? In the end I decided if the early access had enough content to consider it as value for money then I would include it. That's why No Creeps were harmed was in but Thronefall is under the for consideration section.
You may also notice a lack of sequels or originals, I decided where a game had multiple entries to include what i consider to be the best, it just leaves more room for more entry's otherwise we might have a top 12 of kingdom rush, orcs must die and defense grid titles :)
As usual please remember this is just my thoughts based on games i have played hence why dungeon defenders is not included, i just haven't got round to that one yet...............am I missing out?
Also the Tower Defense genre is spreading it's wings, so while say defense grid is a standard tower and base defense game, orcs must die is more a 1st person action defense game. Then you have titles like Infested planet which is maybe more RTS /tower defense and well Outpost Infinity siege looks like another twist to the genre all together but at the end of the day they all scratch that TD itch.
If you have watched any of the other best of video's i hope you can see some progression in the quality and presentation style since my original tower defense video. Look out for the new Pro's and Con's section, box-art and info boxes.
