Fastest food source we can expand into is Mushrooms but we need slime for that. Thankfully the map is covered in the stuff and we have all the necessary labour to collect it. I have been thinking about this and our biggest enemy is game slow down, we have to build in a way that is easy on the computer or we will grind the game to a halt before the finish line. So ranching hatches is off the menu. Maybe two ranches so we have some high moral food for a few specialised dupes. Most of the episode is hiring new dupes and carefully excavating the map.
