1440p VS HD7970 + Xeon X3440: Mortal Kombat XL, Very High Preset 2019
6Its hot, its powerful, it was the 2012 flagship card of AMD. Behold the HD7970. Re-released as R9 280x, same chip, same architecture, put them side by side and you can Crossfire them together.
These cards were one of the 1st to have 4k ready labels on their boxes. This is for a good reason, because they can actually play 4k on games on Ultra preset when it was released.
Of course 12years had passed and the 4k crown is no longer on HD7970's reach. But 1440p would be interesting to see.
Check my actuall game-play recorded using AMD relive. All Radeon settings are set to defaults, NO optimization like turning off tessellation and such to get higher FPS. This is pure testing the limits of an HD7970. I get higher FPS without recording as AMD relive takes away performance.
