Well, I was hoping to upload a bit more content to the channel prior to this, but it just was not happening (not enough time). Nevertheless, it's June 18 again, and if you're a regular on the channel since 2012, you'll know what this means: another MegaMan Music Marathon begins!

For the 10th time, it's another month-long marathon of MegaMan music, and we're starting things off in a bit of an unexpected way. For the longest time, I was under the impression the PlayStation 3 and Wii versions of MegaMan 9 shared the same soundtrack. That turned out to not be the case as there are a number of differences between the two despite using the same instrument set:
-Higher sound quality on the PlayStation 3 (audio sampling is done at 48KHz instead of 32KHz like on the Wii, resulting in a much sharper sound)
-Differences in the way the songs are sequenced (this varies between songs, but most of the time, the notes last longer in the PlayStation 3 version and the sequencing is sometimes less consistent, resulting in more variability between loops of a particular song)
-Changes to pitch bend and modulation effects, sometimes subtle, other times significant to the point of drastically altering how the song sounds
-Rebalanced audio channels on the PlayStation 3 (background notes are louder, bass is not quite as prominent as on the Wii but still more audible than on the Xbox 360)
This means previous MegaMan 9 uploads will be redone this year to split the PlayStation 3 and Wii soundtracks apart as some of those have significant differences while others are a bit less obvious (I was hoping reuploads wouldn't be a thing anymore, but I guess not).
For today, to start things off for the 2021 MegaMan Music Marathon, we have the PlayStation 3 version of Hornet Dance (HornetMan Stage) from MegaMan 9.
