F1 2020 - Test-driving the Benetton B194
Back to normal on the channel now with F1 2020 and a 5-lap test drive of the Benetton B194, one of the most controversial cars the sport's ever seen, around my home track, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Whatever unsavory driving aids were alleged to be used in this car, none of that is in use here; this is a pure, raw B194 and it is quite a tough car to drive. Getting the power down with the B194 is pretty damn difficult, and on the first lap, I nearly binned it on more than one occasion. I'm going to need to spend some more time getting the hang of this car as I'm sure there's still something I'm missing to get the power down without either having a huge amount of wheelspin or being too conservative. Love that Ford V8, though.
So anyways, here are my first laps in the Benetton B194 in F1 2020. This is the PC version running at 4K (with temporal reconstruction, i.e. TAA Checkerboard anti-aliasing) High settings with custom mirror and vehicle reflection settings (XML edit to render both at full framerate as the High preset usually renders these at half framerate), HBAO+ ambient occlusion and 16x anisotropic filtering.
