9It was noted before that I'm pretty cautious with picking my fights most times, and hopefully a few choice examples of failure in this series will show you why. Even though this game isn't really ironman, as in, losing isn't the end no matter how often you fuck up, it is easy to get stuck in a rut and make no progress if you play badly enough.
Or make a really foolhardy attack.
However, it's definitely time to start getting more confident. I'm a little more experienced with how to control our ships, and of course, we have a fleet of ships with a good combat AI who's no more likely to fuck up than I am, most times. They can win the game for us!
I strongly feel the game comes into its own really with the fleet side of things, in battles and in management and whatnot. Starfarer would be a much poorer experience if you could only have one main ship, or battles were 1v1, Pokemon style, between fleets.
