I will say the different factions definitely guide your playstyle more here than in vanilla Sins; for instance, as Federation, you develop econ, whereas say the Klingons or Romulans don't get as many chances to do that, and if you do, you just become vulnerable and inefficient.

Seems that way to me, anyhow.
